North Adams, the smallest city in Massachusetts, is tucked away in the northeast corner of the Berkshire hills. The city and, more broadly, Berkshire County have been my home for about a decade and I am increasingly passionate about supporting the region's economic and cultural growth. I am an active volunteer in the community, giving my time and talents to committees, boards, and programs that enrich Berkshire County's social and creative fabric.
I am the founder and host of Creative City, a weekly radio program that airs every Monday from 9-10am on WMNB-LP 107.1FM North Adams. The show features interviews with local and regional artists, creative business owners, and cultural leaders in order to increase North Adams residents' awareness and understanding of the arts as social, educational, and economic community assets.
North Adams Public Arts Commission
I am an appointed co-founding member and chair of the North Adams Public Arts Commission, a municipal commission founded in December 2015 that seeks to facilitate and support the creation of public art in North Adams. I have helped to develop a website, logo, ordinance / mission revisions, and processes for the commission.
I am a board member of BerkShares, Inc., a nonprofit organization that issues BerkShares, Berkshire County's local currency. Established in 2006, BerkShares strengthen the local economy by ensuring that capital remains in the region. Participating banks exchange US dollars for BerkShares and over 300 local businesses accept BerkShares as payment for goods and services.
