strategic. creative. entrepreneurial.
I am an independent project manager and creative economy consultant who specializes in arts-driven economic development projects.
Since relocating to Western Massachusetts from metro New York City in 2009, my work has focused on the creative economy. I served as the Managing Director of Berkshire Creative, the first organization devoted to fostering the creative economy in Berkshire County. Following a strategic planning process and merger with 1Berkshire, I assumed the role of Creative Economy Specialist and continued to support artists and creative businesses regionally.
I am also an artist, arts administrator, and curator. My background in the fine arts has given me an intimate understanding of the needs of artists and others in the creative sector.
I began my career as an artist assistant and muralist after completing a BFA program at Purchase College in 2005. In 2014, I received a Master's degree from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. I coordinated and/or curated exhibitions at ArtsWestchester, Ferrin Gallery, Eclipse Mill Gallery, and many other arts organizations. My programming, designing, and writing skills complement my organizational and strategic ones.
In addition, I am a community convener who has founded and helped launch a number of businesses, organizations, and programs.
In January 2015, I co-founded BerkshireFlirt, a singles events business. I was also a co-founding board member of the Makers' Mill, a fiber and printmaking makerspace in North Adams, and am a co-founding commissioner and current chair of the North Adams Public Arts Commission. I continue to host the weekly radio program Creative City on WMNB-LP 107.1FM North Adams, which I founded in July 2016. An entrepreneurial spirit guides everything I do.
